Easy mode is our gentlest word search. The grid is only 8×8, there are seven words to find, and every word reads normally – left to right or top to bottom. There are no diagonal or backwards words.
That makes it a good choice for beginners, for a relaxed warm-up, or for a quick puzzle on a phone where small cells are hard to tap. Press New puzzle for another grid whenever you like.
How Easy mode is different
- Grid: 8×8 instead of 10×10 or 12×12.
- Words: seven instead of ten or twelve.
- Directions: only across and down.
- Themes: everyday topics like Fruit, Pets, Weather and Shapes.
Tips for a quick solve
- Scan each row from left to right for the first letter of a word.
- Then scan each column from top to bottom.
- Start with the longest word – it's easiest to see.
- Words never overlap backwards, so you can read them straight.
